Max has become an expert in energy economics and regulation through three years of independent research in the area as an undergraduate economics major (BA, UMD cum laude '09) and current Masters of Public Policy student. He recently published an Op-Ed in The Washington Post on "cap and trade" permit allocation. Max's knowledge of which services are most valuable to electricity grids, where and how they can be monetized, and the requirements for monitoring and verification guide Enertaq's product development.
John is an accomplished algorithms designer who published five technical papers, four in the operations research literature, as an undergraduate computer science and math major (dual BS, UMD summa cum laude '10). He won the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship for his research accomplishments, was selected as one of the top 13 computing researchers among male undergrads in North America by the Computing Research Association, and won an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
His research on efficient algorithms and optimization are of paramount importance to his work on designing our product, as we use an intelligent dispatch algorithm to vary demand in enrolled facilities without noticeable effects on building occupants. Silberholz also provides key software engineering expertise acquired from an undergraduate computer science major and an internship at Microsoft as a software developer.
Martin Long is a seasoned business development executive with twenty years experience in established and early-stage technology companies. His particular expertise is in identifying and closing breakthrough anchor deals and in negotiating complex OEM, licensing, distribution and investment agreements, both nationally and internationally.
Earlier in his career, Long was Sun Microsystems' software sales representative of the year, having closed a series of breakthrough licensing agreements for the SunSoft subsidiary's intellectual property. He was also the first sales/marketing hire at Art Technology Group (ARTG). During his tenure at ARTG, Long implemented the company's distribution strategy and sales force compensation plan and was integral to positioning the company for its successful IPO. Later, serving as VP, Business Development at Pinpoint Corp., a pioneering RFID firm, Long closed the firm's anchor distribution and equity investment deal with GE Medical Systems. Long holds two patents. He received his BA from The University of Illinois and his MSc from The London School of Economics.
